n 1868, Josepha, her children, and her mother in law Anna, left for the United States.  They traveled with Josepha's mother, Elizabeth, and her two brothers John and Anton, arriving in New York on May 11, 1868 aboard the ship Deutschland.  An immigration index listing suggests husband Jindrich traveled to Chicago a year earlier.
Jindrich "Henry" Hajek's mother came with the family to the United States.  She was born about 1792 and died in October of 1888.  Death Address 139 Taylor.  Burial in Bohemian National Cemetery - Hajek Family Plot.
Note - Sister of Jindrich Hajek - Anna Hajek married Ondrej "Andrew" Smidl.  This family also came to the USA.  Anna born about 1832 died in 1893.  Andrew born about 1824 died on April 22, 1908.  Anna and Ondrej were married Unora 10, 1852 at Kralovice #158, Bohemia.  Portafontium.cz - Record - Book Kralovice 14 - Image 17 of 238. They are buried in Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.  Some family records are listed under Schmidl.
